Please allow me to introduce myself.
AUTHOR My first three novels, Metal Heart, Tin Road, and Iron Curtain, are part of a self-published series (writing, editing, and design) available NOW for checkout at the Multnomah County Library and for purchase on Amazon. My fourth novel, Astrid vs. the Asteroid, is in revision mode and scheduled for publication in Fall 2022. I am working on the rough draft of a fifth novel, Rosita Ruins the Heist, slated for publication in Fall 2023. EDITOR AND PUBLISHING PROFESSIONAL I am currently working as a Publishing Assistant at Chemeketa Press, a publisher based out of Chemeketa Community College that creates affordable textbooks for students. I am also available for content, developmental, and copy editing services via Reedsy. In the past, I have worked as a Project Manager and Admissions Manager at Overcup Press, an indie publisher that makes beautiful books for curious people. I've also worked as a Marketing Specialist-Editor at educational development publisher Solution Tree and as an Associate Editor of thought-leadership articles for publications like Forbes, Inc., and The Business Journals. I served as the Managing Editor at Ooligan Press, responsible for shepherding authors through the editorial process while simultaneously managing production schedules for 10+ manuscripts. PROJECT MANAGEMENT As a Graduate Outreach Assistant in the Book Publishing department at Portland State University, I coordinated and hosted a dozen events including the Transmit Culture series, the 2020 Oregon Writers of Color Showcase with Literary Arts, and the Book Publishing Career Skills Weekend. I also led two digital fundraising campaigns that resulted in the creation of the Student Travel Fund for the Book Publishing program. I served as the Arts Administration intern for Willamette Writers and assisted with designing and editing informational and promotional materials for the Willamette Writers annual conference, where I also served as a volunteer. MULTIMEDIA MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS Before pivoting to publishing, I spent nearly a decade in marketing and communications at various non-profit and educational institutions, where I honed and strengthened my skills in content creation and digital media design including photography, videography, website design, and social media strategy. PROGRAM COORDINATION In my early professional career, I worked with AmeriCorps programming for nearly a decade, first as an elementary reading tutor in the Washington Reading Corps, and then as a member support coordinator with the Northwest Service Academy, an environmental education organization. I'm a Pacific Northwest local, born and raised. I have an MA in Book Publishing and a BA in English from Portland State University. I have over 20+ years of professional experience, with a broad spectrum of skills that would benefit any author, agent, or organization interested in working with me. |
